Northern Côte des Blancs circuit - 21 km cycling route
Set off to explore the northern part of the Côte des Blancs on a 21.3-kilometre cycling route, passing through the wine-growing villages of Chouilly, Cramant, Avize, Oger, Grauves, and Cuis.
This fully signposted cycling loop (cycle signs marked with RED dots) is one of five discovery circuits by bike created by Epernay Agglo Champagne.
Designed to follow low-traffic roads, these circuits allow you to easily explore the region and fully enjoy the landscapes and other treasures of the villages along the way (religious heritage, vernacular architecture, leisure facilities, sports, and cultural sites).
Saddle up for an unforgettable 21 km cycling loop through the rolling Champagne hillsides — a route of gentle climbs and descents that will delight cycling enthusiasts. Fully signposted with red-marked cycle signs, this itinerary is one of five scenic routes curated by Epernay Agglo Champagne, designed to follow peaceful, low-traffic roads. Along the way, you’ll enjoy breathtaking landscapes, charming wine villages, and a rich blend of cultural and natural heritage.
Starting from the village of Chouilly, home to a Romanesque church and local shops perfect for a picnic stop, the route leads you through vineyards and open plains. Highlights include the historic Mont Aigu vineyard lodge, the panoramic viewpoint at the Saran Wood Mound, and the Château de Saran. You'll pass chalk cliffs, forest edges, and prestigious Champagne houses as you cycle through Avize, Oger, Grauves, and Cuis.
Throughout the journey, nature reserves, award-winning villages, and remarkable viewpoints reveal the deep connection between the Champagne landscape and its winemaking traditions. The ride offers a unique way to experience the quiet beauty of the Côte des Blancs, before gently returning to Chouilly through the vines.
